A few words about us
When considering the idea of opening a salon, Miriam had some very concrete ideas of what she felt would be non-negotiable. Those ideas stem from her faith in God and the many years of growing pains through her own life experiences. So when the opportunity to finally start her dream of opening a salon came, she went back to what she depends on daily, prayer.
While pondering, let’s be frank, while freaking out about the prospect of this journey, the scripture from Matthew 5:16 kept running through her head.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
So many ways to break down the meaning of this scripture but in the context of building a salon both for clients and employees, Miriam felt connected to the word Light.
Miriam chose the name Illume Hair. Illume comes from Illuminate. Illuminate means, “To make (something) visible or bright by shining light on it.”
In the world of hair color, light is an important ingredient in how we see results. The way light absorbs, reflects, and refracts gives us the end results we are looking for. Hair color and our lives can be compared. We are all different, we absorb differently the joys, hardships, and struggles we experience. We reflect on good and bad and hope that we learn as we do so. And sometimes we refract what is thrown at us, with the results of “beauty” after the changes.
Illume Hair is a safe space. Although it is founded on religious feelings and faith, there will never be judgment no matter what your beliefs are. We accept all who join us whether you are a client or an employee. We hope you come to Illume Hair to escape from the world, feel rejuvenated, leave looking and feeling your best self and ready to spread your light to the world.
